BEARDED DRAGON CARE
Bearded Dragons are great companions with quite the personality. They interact with owners very well. In some cases they require lots of attention.
HABITAT AND SETUP
Bearded Dragons require a 40 gallon tank or larger. They can grow up to 2 feet long and live for about 10 years. They are from hot arid environments and require temperatures between 75-110 degrees F. They need a cool side and a warm side of the tank. At night they require temperatures between 65-75 degrees F with 20%-30% humidity.
You can use reptile carpet or sand from your local pet store as substrate. They will require a UVA or UVB bulb to absorb calcium and a infrared heat bulb or ceramic heat emitter (CHE) to bask under. You should lightly mist the tank every other day to maintain some humidity. Normally they need a hiding place like a cave or branch or rock, also that may be more humid. A large water dish to soak in is also recommended
DIET
Bearded Dragons eat crickets, mealworms, waxworms, and other insects. You should dust them with a calcium supplement twice a week. They also need some veggies such as leafy greens or carrots every few days. They also eat fruits such as apples, bananas, and melons. It is recommended these once a week. There are also special prepared diets available that are pelleted blends that you can feed them daily. They need water at all times.
