GUINEA PIG CARE
Guinea Pigs are great friends to play with and watch. Keep an eye on them because they can be timid and run away if taken out of their cage to play. Their soft fur is addictive to pet. They are very playful and can be acrobatic at times.

Guinea Pigs thrive in same gender pairs and are very social. They are most active during the day. However, they should not be kept in direct sunlight and should have temperatures around 65-75 degrees F with low humidity. Their cage should be at least 24x36x24" or larger and have a hide. Cover the bottom of the cage with an appropriate amount of clean bedding. Spot clean as needed and replace bedding as directed on packaging. Add a hay feeder and chew sticks to keep their teeth healthy.
80% of their diet should be Timothy hay or oat grass. Supplement their diet with 25-50mg of vitamin C per day. 10% of their diet is pelleted food daily. 5% of their diet is fresh veggies such as bell peppers and green or red leaf lettuce every day. The last 5% odf their diet is fruit and treats such as oranges and blueberries twice a week. Make sure they have clean water at all times.
