LEOPARD GECKO CARE

Leopard geckos are great companions. You can hold and play with them but keep an eye on them as they can run fast. They come from the Middle East around hot arid environments. Their tails are fat because they store all the fat there.

Leopard Geckos require temperatures between 75-95 degrees F during the day and 65-75 degrees at night. They need a cooler humid hide and a warmer basking spot. It is recommended they be housed in a 20 gallon long terrarium. However a juvenile can be housed in a 10 gallon. You can use reptile carpet or tile for the bottom. You can put moss in the cool humid hide to hold humidity that helps them shed. However, they do not need much humidity. Humidity needs to be low around 10%-30%. A ceramic heat emitter (CHE) and UVB bulb is recommended. and under-tank-heater is also recommended. Clean the reptile carpet every few weeks to remove waste.

Leopard Geckos eat crickets, dubia roaches, and mealworms. Dust the insects with calcium/D3 and feed 2-3 times a week. Water should be provided in a small dish at all times.
