Dwarf hamsters can grow up to 4" and Syrian Hamsters can grow up to 7" and they live up to two years. They are normally nocturnal so they are most active at night. While Syrian Hamsters are sociable with humans they prefer to be housed alone. Dwarf Hamsters, however, can be housed with multiple other hamsters. Put your hamster cage in a low humidity area out of direct sunlight. Temperatures should be around 65-75 degrees F. Cover the bottom of the cage with clean bedding and spot clean and replace bedding as directed on packaging. You may want to add transport tubes and an exercise wheel. You may also want a hide house for private seclusion for your hamster to feel comfortable.

80% of your hamster's diet should be pelleted food from your local pet store. 15% of their diet should include fresh veggies. Remove leftovers after a few hours. 5% of their diet should be fruits and treats like oranges and blueberries twice a week. Remove leftovers after a few hours. Make sure they have clean water to drink.
